Police have arrested 17-year-old Agyeiwaa Kyere and four others who were engaged in robbing at gunpoint in the Atwima Nwanbiagya Municipality in the Ashanti Region.
Police Commander for the area, DSP Emmanuel Asiamah, briefing the media said,
Isaac Frimpong, 26; Kofi Bio, 24; Ayei Emmanuel, 17 and Jessica Asieduwaa, 23 have been terrifying the community for sometime now.
The Commander disclosed that a number of weapons were found on them when they were arrested from their hideout upon a tip-off from residents.
"A locally made gun, 6 live cartridges and a smartphone were retrieved. 6 Samsung phone batteries were also found," DSP Emmanuel Asiamah told journalists in Kumasi.
The police commander took the opportunity to encourage a healthy relationship between the law-abiding public and the police, noting that it was through cooperation that the police in the area could arrest criminals from their hideouts.
DSP Emmanuel Asiamah also told journalists the five suspects will be processed for court.
