STRAIGHT OUT OF COMMON SENSE, MARIJUANA SHOULD BE LEGALISED IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES - ROCKY DAWUNI

Ghanaian singer, songwriter and Grammy award nominee who performs his signature "Afro Roots" sound which is a mixture of Reggae, Afro beat, Highlife and soul music, Rocky Dawuni has disclosed on air with the host of the award winning late afternoon drive time show Ayekoo on Radio 1, 100.7, Bishop Abbey Jnr known widely as The Bishop Jeneral, that it's high time developing countries forget about culture and embrace the legalisation of marijuana ( cannabis). This he made on World Marijuana day about his concern on non - legalisation of marijuana by Ghana for some time now.
To him, scientists has proven the health benefit associated with the use of marijuana and its provision of economic stability for countries who have legalised it.
"Many countries are making money from marijuana production and we go and take loans from this countries whiles we could legalise it and enjoy our own financial stability" he said.
"People are already abusing it. You can't just change peoples attitude towards it. For example, alcohol consumption has done more harm than good to people but it receives more advertisement than any other product in the country. Regulations should rather be put in place to curb the abuse of marijuana if legalised".
This he said when asked as to whether the fear of abuse is the reason behind its not being legalised.
Finally he urged Ghanaians to patronage more of the local songs and his fans should watch out for his upcoming album which features top artists including Sarkodie, Stonebwouy among others.
