Afia Schwarzenegger has described some leaders in the country as hypocrites, saying based on the monies presented during the late Ebony’s burial service, it is clear their interest in glorifying the dead with money outweighs their interest in helping the living.
In a video sited on her Instagram page, the queen of comedy, expressed disgust at the behaviour some of these leaders exhibited at the funeral grounds.
Afia was earlier reported to have taken a swipe at Ghanaians for the way and manner the late Ebony Reigns was treated when she was alive.
“Some Ghanaian leaders are wicked. They will not use their monies to help the living but rather the dead. And if the corpse is not one which attracts media attention such huge sums won’t be given out. So when Ebony was alive, what stopped you from calling her to offer her some of these monies you gave out?” she quizzed.
She painfully recounted how on several occasions, the ‘Sponsor’ hitmaker was chastised for her choice of clothing and her ‘seductive’ mannerisms especially when performing on stage.
She advised leaders to channel their excessive riches into aiding government projects like the Free SHS, the one district one factory project among others.
“Nana has brought Free SHS, how much have you taken out to support him with? If you all contributed GHC 50, 00 each to support the one district one factory project, Nana won’t be having a difficult time so much that he be nicknamed ‘King Promise’, she added.
Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng well known as Ebony Reigns was buried on March 24, 2018, at the Osu Cemetery in Accra.
Her burial service which was well attended saw a flood of fans and sympathizers, family, friends and a surprising number of government officials and big entrepreneurs, including Ibrahim Mahama, Oye Lithur, Oko Vanderpuije, as well as seasoned musicians/actors like Stonebwoy, Samini, Wanlov The Kubolor, Mzbel, Afia Schwarzenegger, among others.
